Pinellas Primary Academy is the sister school of Pinellas Preparatory Academy, a high performing “A” rated school. We are a tuition free, public charter school founded in 2011 on 5 key principles; Nurturing, Creative, Motivated, Together, and Potential, with a focus on Project Based Learning (PBL). Using the Buck Institute for Education’s model of PBL, we challenge students through high rigor curriculum that encompasses cooperative learning, critical thinking, and problem solving to not only make them successful in school, but to give them true 21st century skills that will help them soar into their future!
Pinellas County School Board approved the charter in February 2011 for grades K-4 and we opened our doors August 2011 to 288 students. Since that time, we have established a caring and nurturing environment with dedicated teachers that are devoted to creating lifelong learners. We are committed to instilling a sense of community along with a strong character education program.
In April 2013, PCSB approved an amendment to our charter to encompass only grades K-3. By popular demand, we increased our enrollment to 324. Being a K-3 school only, we do not receive a school grade but have consistently outscored both the district and the state on FCAT, thus verifying that creative teaching, teaching students through engaging activities that focus on the student’s learning style, and having motivated students creates a successful school.
I encourage prospective parents to learn more about our school, tour our facility, and decide if we are the right choice for your child. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us.
